Get together with friends and family, shoot and log scores for a chance to win monthly and year end prizes!

PURPOSE
The mission of Armed & Strong (A&S) is to promote safe handling and proficient shooting of handguns by creating a fun and easily achievable venue. Throughout the year members can conveniently shoot from home in their own backyards, or any place of their choosing, appropriate and safe for practicing. Similar to a pilot logging air miles, members are invited to log targets and accumulate 'shoot time' with a goal of improvement and gained proficiency. Opportunities are built into the program for rewards, including milestone achievements, prizes and acknowledgments.

Shockingly, the average gun owner shoots less than once per year, and yet owns a handgun for the purpose of protecting their family in potential life threatening situations. It is our earnest mission to have a nationwide impact on this scenario for a more favorable statistic and to promote family and friends shooting and gaining proficiency together, while enjoying friendly competition.

THE SHOOTING CHALLENGE
$20,000.00 Plus in prizes/awards annually. Just for practicing with your friends!
Armed & Strong is a nationwide, membership based handgun shooting venue appropriate for all shooting levels; beginner through marksman, and all ages from 10 and up. Throughout the year, members can shoot at their convenience at any suitable location, and submit their targets to A&S for score verification and logging. Adult members may shoot in any or all of four divisions; Individual, Couples, 4 Person Team or Family. Individual , Couples and Teams are given points for accuracy per target turned in. 3 targets per month maximum. Families earn Milestones and are eligible for monthly prizes.  Youth age 10 – 18 are permitted to shoot air soft or pellet handguns if desired. By becoming an Armed & Strong member you understand and agree that A&S is not telling you where or when to shoot, or to shoot at all. Every member is doing so by their own choice.

HONOR SYSTEM
A&S operates on an honor system, which we strongly feel is a natural fit considering our mission for our great Country. A&S is a system our founding forefathers would have certainly supported. As such, we expect our members to respect the honor system, perform honestly, log and submit scores with integrity. Every member, upon joining, must acknowledge and agree to uphold the A&S Honor System, as well as promise to accept the conditions and resulting final scores.

CONTEST RULES and SCORING
Each submitted target must be an approved A&S target as recommended on our website homepage. Five rounds fired and scored per target. Distance from target must be a minimum of 12' or more, 20' to 25' being the standard. Five rounds shot at each target, 5 targets per month maximum may be turned in for logging. Targets will be verified by A&S for caliber and powder residue. Powder residue is detectable at 10' and under. Any dishonorable targets not meeting requirements will be tossed and will not be recorded, according to the A&S Honor System. There are no further penalties for dishonorable targets not meeting the Honor System criteria, members may submit new targets at any time. All honorable targets will be logged and scored.

Members will submit targets monthly by postal mail. All members will sign and date their targets on the back, with notation of distance from the target being recorded as well as the caliber of handgun used. Members who join after the first of the new season are allowed to make up those 5 targets monthly they missed, if desired. Individual Division members will submit their personal targets once a month in one packet. All targets fired by couples, teams and families are to be submitted once per month, in one packet. Couples, Teams or Family targets submitted individually will be tossed and will not be recorded. Submit them together, once each month.

Members participating in the Family Division will not be eligible for YEAR END DIVISIONAL awards, however, families will participate in achieving A&S Milestones throughout the year, which will be awarded monthly. Upon reaching the first Milestone, families qualify to win prizes offered once each month in the Family Wild Card category, by random drawing from among other qualifying families. Separately, each Milestone is recognized and honored with beautiful, personalized parchment certificates or engraved plaques. Families will score and be recognized by quantity of targets submitted per family on a monthly basis, as well as overall year end improvement. Youth are permitted to shoot with airsoft, BB or pellet handguns.

YEAR END DIVISIONAL WINNERS
At the end of each year, A&S will tally all verified scores and declare the TOP 5 shooters in each division in the County. Winners will receive high end prizes in 1st - 5th place for each Division, ie, 1st Place Individual, Couple, Team, and so forth. All finalists will receive a certificate of achievement along with their prize award.  Prizes may be in the form of cash, gift certificates, or products from our sponsors and will be declared on our website early in each season. OVER $16,000.00 in PRIZES apply toward Year End. Other prizes will be presented on a monthly basis throughout the year and are explained under Wild Cards.

WILD CARD CONTESTS
Throughout the year, two types of Wild Cards will be drawn. First, Family Wild Cards will be drawn monthly from among families which have achieved one or more A&S Milestones. Families who are drawn will win a prize. At the end of the season, one family will win an Overall Family Wild Card based on most improvement throughout the year. Wild Cards in the Family Division will total 12 annual Family Wild Card winners (one each month), and one overall Family Wild Card winner, from among qualifying families. The Overall Family Wild Card will replace Year End Prizes for the Family Division.

Second are Open Wild Cards. Open Wild Cards will be drawn at various times throughout the year for a total of 3 in each region, annually, from among members in all non-family divisions (total of 12 Open Wild Cards nationally). Members can be nominated to earn a Wild Card by other members based on sportsmanship or other admirable qualities in line with the A&S mission, or may be drawn by A&S randomly in case of no available nominations. Members are eligible to earn Open Wild Cards regardless of how long they have been an A&S member, but must have submitted a minimum of 5 targets to qualify.

Wild Card prizes may consist of cash, gift certificates or valuable prizes from our esteemed sponsors and will be declared on our website prior early in the season.
